 The Airborne Toxic Event is an American indie band from Los Angeles. It was around March 2006 Mikel, while working on a novel, learned his mom had cancer & genetic Autoimmune disease. After the discovery he started composing an album instead of a novel. It was said on the show that Mikel saw Anna at a taco stand (which the band loves) and asked if she would play in his band. Then the band hit it big when KROQ played one of their songs on air, while the band had no manager, or publicist. It was then when record labels started calling. The band finally signed with Majordomo Records, and are planning to go on a north America tour with The Fratallies a week from now.
Things we learned about The Airborne Toxic Event from the show:
1) They Love Taco Stands
2) Rollingstone Magazine named them as one of the top 25 bands on Myspace
3) Don't yell out "Have sex with me!" to Anna at a show, as it is a turnoff to her.
