You might not have considered it, but you can now join Loveline Chat even when you're not at LovelineShows.com. There are two suggested options for you 1) Use Pidgin Chat or 2) Use Trillian Chat. Pidgin is the recommend chat because it's it works on most computers and it won't take up a lot of your system resources. Best of all, if you trust Firefox, it's made by the same people. With Pidgin you can also connect up your other chat accounts like AOL, Yahoo, MSN and Google IM... so you only need one software. For this example we're only going to show you how to setup Pidgin IRC. There's support for setting up the other services. For this example we'll be installin Pidgin to Windows.
1. Let's get started by installing Pidgin. Select which operating system you're running. Click "Download" and save pidgen file to your desktop.
2. Open the Pidgin installation file. Select your Language & Click "Ok" > Click "Next" when you see the Welcome Screen > Click "Next" after you've read the License Agreement > Click "Next" using the DEFAULT "Components to Install" settings > Click "INSTALL" using the DEFAULT directory to install Pidgin > After Pidgin is finished installing click "Next" > Check the "Run Pidgin" box and click "Finish"
3. Next you're going to setup Loveline Chat. You should see a Welcome to Pidgin screen > You'll see a long list of options in the "Protocol" window, you want to select "IRC" option (7th down on the list) > Type in your USERNAME, and then next to Server irc.mibbit.com > Leave the rest blank and click the SAVE button.
4. You'll notice there is nothing listed in your "Buddy List" you're going to now add "Loveline" to your buddy list. Under the "Buddies" menu click "Add Chat" > Once the new window opens, next to Channel type #loveline and check the "Autojoin when account becomes online" then click the ADD button > You should now see "#loveline" as one of your contacts > Now you can double-click the #loveline item and you're done!
